The life cycle of D. suzukii can be very short (20 to 30 days) and up to 13 generations per year.

Females lay 1-10 eufs per fruit and each female lays more than 300 eggs.

The cycle is about 8 to 25 days per generation depending on the temperature and food.

Polyphagous, highly mobile and very high reproductive rate, Drosophila suzukii is a serious pest, against which no test method does not bring to date satisfactory results.
